Pelican First-Gen Scholarship

Apply

Apply with one short form

Two requirements, one short form, nothing to upload. Applying is free.

Already checked both? Go straight to the form

Check these two things first

  1. Neither of your parents or guardians completed a four-year (bachelor's) degree. Not sure? See who counts as first-generation.
  2. You are enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university in the United States, in any field. Community colleges count if they are accredited; your registrar can tell you whether your school is.

If both are true, you can apply. Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2027.

What the form asks

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your college or university.
  • Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student.
  • A statement that you meet the first-generation definition: a checkbox and your typed name.
  • Confirmation that you have read the official rules and the privacy notice.

That is the whole form. No essay, no transcript, no letters, no GPA, no financial documents, no fee.

Ready? Open the form

The form opens on a separate page. What you enter is used only to run the scholarship, as the privacy notice describes.

Your college, its first-generation student office, a TRIO program (a federally funded campus support program) or a scholarship directory may list this award. Those listings are for information only. The only place to apply is the form linked from this website's apply page, and applying never costs anything.

If you need another way to apply

If the online form does not work with your screen reader or other assistive technology, or you cannot use it for any reason, email [email protected] before January 15, 2027 and we will set up another way to submit. Asking has no effect on your application.

What happens next

  1. Keep the confirmation the form shows or emails you when your application arrives. If you expected an email and nothing shows up within a few days, check your spam folder, then email us.
  2. Applications close January 15, 2027. Nothing more is needed from you after that unless we contact you.
  3. One recipient is selected under the official rules and contacted by email and phone.
  4. We confirm enrollment with the recipient's school, then pay the $2,500.
  5. The recipient is named on the winners page on February 10, 2027, if they agree to be named.

If you are not chosen, you can apply again next year as long as you are still enrolled.
